Her grant was entitled
"Enhancing Listening Skills with Classroom Headphones". The grant will be used to purchase 210 over-the-head earphones for the 5th Grade students at Rolla Middle School. This will allow the students in each team to have access to their own headphones to build listening skills. There are 340 students in the 5th Grade classes of Rolla Middle School. Each team will be able to use these headphones to listen to educational videos, screencasts, and recorded books giving each student time to sharpen their listening skills throughout the school year, without having to ask students to purchase individual earphones to be used at school.
Mrs. Knehans was presented with a check by MRTF President, Karen Miller and Region 7 Vice-President, Georgia White, and a letter from Executive Director of Missouri Retired Teachers Association, Maria Walden.
